How to Organize a Clear Team Training Week

Use a shared weekly structure to make team practices, assigned workouts, and recovery expectations easier to follow.

Start with the competition calendar

Map practices, games, travel, school or work, and recovery before adding assigned training. A team plan should acknowledge the workload athletes already carry.

Make each assignment specific

State the purpose, expected timing, and relevant instructions. Avoid sending an assignment without enough context for an athlete to understand it.

Use completion as context

Review team activity to guide follow-up conversations. Completion data does not explain every circumstance and should not replace direct communication.

Keep health decisions with qualified professionals

Coaches and managers should adapt expectations for age, experience, injuries, health, and qualified medical guidance.
